Infected Tooth

Sinus Infection
Sometimes, the pain your experience in your teeth may be not be because of a tooth at all. It may be because of a sinus infection. If you experience pain in the upper teeth on the side of your face, this may be caused by sinusitis. This condition may be accompanied by nasal congestion.
Once you get treatment for the sinus infection, your pain will go away.
TMJ Disorders
If the pain is near your jaw, it may be caused by temporomandibular joint disorder or TMJ. This can be due to a trauma to a jaw, injury to the jaw joints, bruxism or tooth grinding, arthritis, or certain cancers. Wisdom tooth may also result in jaw pain.
Not all tooth pain is persistent or severe. In some cases, your pain may go away on its own.
