Repairs to Cracked or Broken Teeth
There are several options to repair a cracked or broken tooth, and it will depend on the extent of damage to the tooth. If you have a small chip, it can be repaired with a filling or with bonding. Bonding is a quick, simple procedure. If a larger portion of the tooth has broken off or cracked, then the tooth may need a dental cap or a crown. These two procedures are a little more involved since more of the tooth needs repair. If a front tooth is cracked or broken, you may be in need of a dental veneer. As soon as you notice the crack or break in your teeth, call us so we can fix it right away.
Most teeth that are cracked or broken will cause you some type of pain. Some patients do not feel any type of pain and do not even notice that there is anything wrong with their tooth. We recommend coming in twice a year for exams, and this being one of the reasons for that exam. If a cracked or broken tooth is caught early enough, it will save on future damage to your teeth and save you additional money.
