Invisalign® Clear Aligners in Jacksonville, FL

Woman using Invisalign clear aligners from Atlantic Dentistry in Jacksonville, FLThere are various treatment options for individuals who suffer from misaligned teeth. The most common is traditional braces. However, since braces are visible, patients may choose to opt for Invisalign. As the name implies, this treatment option aligns your teeth by wearing invisible aligners. These are similar to braces except they are clear and far less obtrusive than braces. The invisible aligners are made out of flexible plastics known as thermoplastic.

Invisible aligners do not have brackets like braces and do not come with dietary restrictions. When you come to our office needing your teeth aligned, we will give you the available options to choose from. Our dentist will examine the level of alignment to determine whether your condition requires correction or not.

If you suffer from misaligned aligned teeth and you would like them realigned, talk to us. At Atlantic Dentistry, we will help you restore the beauty of your natural teeth without even your closest friends noticing.

How Does Invisalign Align Your Teeth?

The invisible aligners are prescribed by our dentist based on the level of misalignment. At your initial appointment, we will examine your bite motion to see how the teeth come together. We use a unique digital treatment which maps out the movement of your teeth. The dentist will then provide invisible aligners specifically designed for your specific needs. Invisalign is meant to control irregularities with both bite and alignment. Our dentists will provide a guide on how and when to wear them.

Once we settle on the proper set of aligners, your unique set will be created. In most cases, the aligners are worn approximately twenty hours each day. You will be required to change to a different set of aligners after some time depending on the level of misalignment. Our dentist will provide a precise guide about how to wear the aligners based on the condition of your teeth as well as your ultimate goal. In most cases, we recommend changing to a new set of aligners every two weeks. Over time, each set of subsequent aligners will shift the position of your teeth, helping you realign them into appropriate positions.

Benefits of Invisalign

The biggest benefit of invisible aligners is they are not readily noticeable. When you wear invisible aligners, even your closest friends will not be able to notice you are wearing them. Besides their invisibility, they are also removable which makes maintaining a high level of oral hygiene easy. They can also be removed when eating or drinking. Furthermore, they are painless and much less irritating to the oral cavity when compared to braces. With no metal brackets or wires to rub the inside of the mouth, they are far more comfortable to wear. That being said, invisible braces are best suited for only minor alignment issues. If you suffer from advanced irregularities in your teeth, you may require traditional braces.

If you suffer from dental misalignment, we can help you get your teeth back to their natural places with Invisalign.
