Dental Veneers
Jacksonville, FL

Woman smiling after getting dental veneers from Atlantic Dentistry in Jacksonville, FL If your tooth is stained, misshaped, or chipped, dental veneers may be used to remedy the situation. Come and see us here at Atlantic Dentistry to get quality dental veneers. They are a quick solution to a beautiful smile. Veneers are custom-made dental covers that adhere to the contour of your natural teeth. They are less invasive than crowns or braces, and many people receive them to correct small misalignments, or for cosmetic purposes, especially brightening their teeth. Our dental specialists will examine your problem and let you know whether veneers are the best solution. If the veneers are composite, they are installed in the first appointment, but if they are porcelain you may need a second appointment to get them.

Choosing the Best Veneers

Dental veneers are uniform in color and shape, and they give off an appearance of healthy teeth. There are two main types that you may choose.

Composite Veneers

These veneers can be fabricated on the same day. They are effective for minor restorations and brightening your teeth.

Porcelain Veneers

These veneers are fabricated in the laboratory. On the first appointment, an impression of your teeth is taken, and on your second appointment, they are bonded to your teeth. Porcelain veneers are more expensive than composite veneers, but they also last longer and give off the most natural appearance.

Dental Veneers Procedure

Our dental specialists may recommend veneers if your teeth are discolored or misshaped. Depending on the type of veneers that you choose, the procedure may be completed in one appointment or two. This is usually what happens.

A small part of your enamel is removed from both the front and sides of your tooth to make room for the veneer. The trimming makes the teeth smooth to create a more natural look. If there are any old fillings, they are removed during this process.

This is not an invasive surgical procedure, and so anesthetics are not necessary. But if you have crippling anxiety, anesthetics or sedation may be applied.

Veneer fixing/Teeth Impression

If you want composite veneers, they are bonded onto your teeth. But if you want porcelain veneers, an impression of your teeth is first taken, and then sent to the laboratory so that your veneers may be fabricated. You may be given temporary veneers as you wait for about two weeks for the porcelain veneers to be completed.

Veneer bonding

Once your veneers are ready, you’re asked to test them to see whether they fit properly, and the minor deviations are removed. Finally, the porcelain veneers are bonded onto your teeth.

Am I A Good Candidate?

Veneers can help you remedy several dental problems like misaligned, discolored, and misshaped teeth. But then again, not everyone qualifies. Our dental professionals discuss with you and let you know whether you are fit for the procedure. The following issues would typically disqualify you: teeth grinding, extensive tooth damage, crossbite or underbite, gum disease, extensive tooth crowding, and severe dental caries. Our dental professionals fix the veneers onto your teeth expertly, giving you perfect teeth and a snow-white smile.

Veneers are safe, affordable, and comfortable. They make an excellent dental restoration procedure for many dental problems. Visit us at Atlantic Dentistry for quality dental veneers. Call our office today at 904 717-0335.
